Designed as part of the celebration marking 800 years of Nizhny Novgorod's history, a series of interactive kiosks invited residents and visitors to explore the wealth of activities the city has planned in the months ahead. Distributed across the anniversary exhibition venue, the kiosks served as a bridge between the celebration itself and the broader civic calendar, drawing on event data provided by the city administration.
The interface was built around a familiar structure: a calendar view, with events organized by topic, date, and activity type. This let visitors quickly narrow down what mattered to them, whether that meant browsing by month, filtering for a specific kind of activity, or simply seeing what was happening that week.
With over 100 events and a correspondingly data-dense set of content to present, the core challenge was translating that volume of information into something approachable at a glance. The solution was a modular layout that broke the content into clear, digestible units, keeping the density manageable without sacrificing depth.
