The interactive robot installation »Hi Human!« designed in Hybrid Things Lab invites passers-by to explore applied AI research at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Augsburg by interpreting the topic into a human-robot encouter. It is part of the KI-Produktionsnetzwerk Augsburg and was developed within the research group Human-machine interaction with intelligent systems.
Located at a busy junction near Augsburg Haunstetter Straße train station, a collaborative robot arm uses movement to engage passers-by in a dialogue. Acting as a moderator and representative of the KI-Schaufenster, it introduces key themes of the KI-Produktionsnetzwerk Augsburg through generative visuals displayed on screens and shaped by the movements of both humans and the robot. The installation explores how we can develop and use AI collaboratively, responsibly and effectively.
