In the research project “Cobots for my Craft”, conducted within the framework of the AI Production Network (KI-Produktionsnetzwerk), the Faculties of Design and Electrical Engineering at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences we have jointly developed a use case for a collaborative sanding robot (cobot).
The main focus lies on the intuitive teaching interaction in the robotic sanding process, and on quality control during operation. Initial scenarios and interaction concepts are tested on simulations to identify technical requirements and to define relevant interaction and design parameters.

The event created a space to think about the future of ergonomics together, present current research results and application cases, and discuss experiences and design approaches with experts in the fields of robotics, automatization, and working culture.
With over 380 participants, 172 lectures, ten workshops and a “Marketplace of Regional Competence Centers”, the three-day GfA Spring Congress 2024 offered an excellent opportunity for networking and knowledge transfer in applied work research.
